School Closings

School Closing Information:

If St. James School should be closed or have a delayed opening because of snow or any other emergency, the number MONTGOMERY COUNTY 412 will be announced on KYW Newsradio 1060 AM.  The school name will also scroll across the bottom of the screen of the TV on CBS 3 and ABC 6.  In the case of inclement weather you can also check our website or call school. 

If Cheltenham School District closes or has a delay, St. James will automatically be closed or have a delayed opening because we are in this school district.  If they deem it unsafe for their buses to travel with children, we will trust that judgment.  Since we have four school districts that send buses to St. James, excluding Upper Moreland, if two of the other three are closed or delayed, St. James will follow the same procedure that day.  There may be times when the Archdiocesan schools in Philadelphia remain open, yet the roads are unsafe in the suburbs.

Parents please be aware :
                                                   
In extreme cold or when the front steps of the school are wet with snow, ice, or    
rain because of inclement weather, the children and parents are to come into
school through the doors under the front steps, the light over the doorway will be 
on as a reminder.  Our goal is to keep everyone safe.
